Rotary District 9213 launched the Polio Giving Society, a new initiative mobilising Rotarians to strengthen Rotary’s efforts to eradicate polio through sustained giving to PolioPlus to support the global effort to eradicate polio and protect children from the disease.
The society is open to Rotarians who contribute USD 100 or more to PolioPlus, providing an opportunity for members to make a direct and sustained contribution towards Rotary’s global fight to end polio.
The launch was hosted by Rotary Club of Kampala Life Stars in partnership with Wednesday clubs including RC Kira, RC Nakasero Central, RC Mahaba, RC Kampala South International, RC Kampala North and RC Gayaza.
The initiative aims at bringing together Rotarians committed to keeping Rotary’s decades long promise of a polio free world.
It was officiated by the Past District Governor Ken Mugisha, Zonal Polio Chair reinforcing the importance of sustained Rotary engagement in the fight against polio.
Through the Polio Giving Society, Rotary District 9213 is encouraging members and supporters to make continued contributions towards polio eradication efforts.
The initiative recognises that while significant progress has been made, continued commitment and resources remain essential to protecting children and achieving a polio-free world.
Every contribution strengthens the fight. Every generation deserves a world without polio.
Rotary has made a promise to future generations: a world without polio. The Polio Giving Society provides another way for Rotarians to help keep that promise.
