Rotary District 9213 has celebrated 100 days of service under the 2026-2027 Rotary year theme, Create Lasting Impact, highlighting significant achievements in community service, Foundation giving, membership growth, governance, and public image.

Addressing Rotarians and Rotaractors during the 100 Days of Creating Lasting Impact address, District Governor Gerald Obai said the milestone was not about celebrating numbers, but about accounting for service and demonstrating Rotary's commitment to communities across Uganda. He emphasized that Rotary exists to respond to the needs of vulnerable people and to ensure that no one walks alone.

"Today we do not come here to boast. We stand here to account for 100 days of service. These first 100 days have shown us what is possible when service meets purpose. But our greatest achievement is not the money raised, the grants approved, or the memberships gained. It is the lives changed, the hope restored, and the communities that now know they do not walk alone." Governor Obai
Across the district, Rotary clubs have expanded access to clean water, delivered free medical services, supported literacy and mentorship programmes, and advanced road safety initiatives that continue to save lives.

The district recorded more than USD 380,000 in Foundation contributions, including over USD 170,000 to the Annual Fund, USD 44,000 to PolioPlus, and USD 92,000 towards grant funding. The district also registered 20 Major Donors and three Major Gifts during the period. In support of sustainable community projects, 12 Global Grants worth USD 944,434 were approved, while 46 Rotary clubs and 12 Rotaract clubs qualified for grants.

Membership growth remained a key focus, with a net increase of 259 Rotarians and the chartering of the Rotary Club of Kampala Islanders, bringing the district to 152 Rotary clubs. Additional clubs are currently in formation across the district as part of efforts to expand Rotary's reach and impact.

The district also strengthened its visibility through the #RotaryEyamba and #RotaryKonyo campaigns, sustained publication of The Wave, and the launch of The Compass, a quarterly regional newsletter that amplifies club stories and showcases community impact. Rotary's storytelling strategy focused on beneficiaries and the lives changed through service, contributing to an impressive 52.6 million social media impressions and reach across the district's digital platforms during the first 100 days.

In strengthening internal systems, the district supported more than 14 clubs through governance interventions, maintained active risk management processes, trained Family of Rotary Officers across clubs, and recognised 56 Rotarians for more than 25 years of dedicated service.
Having visited 70 Rotary clubs during the first 100 days, Governor Obai said the journey ahead requires renewed focus, stronger collaboration and greater commitment to action.

"One hundred days is not the end of the journey. It is proof that this journey is possible. Let us move from intent to impact, from pledges to action, and continue touching lives every single day,"
As the district enters its next phase, Rotarians have been challenged to grow membership, increase Foundation giving, strengthen club governance, and accelerate impactful projects that Create Lasting Impact in communities across the district.
